Rare tornado in Armenia’s north-west caught on film

A tornado has swept through the Artik municipality, a rare meteorological occurrence in Armenia.

It was caught on film by locals. 

Tornadoes are unusual in Armenia.  

Gagik Surenyan, the deputy director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, posted the video on social media, saying, “An unusual atmospheric occurrence for Armenia: A short while ago a tornado was seen in Artik. Tornado and hailstorm in the Nahapetavan village, Shirak province,” he said.

He did not report damages.
