Prime Minister chairs discussion on implementation of Food Security System Development Strategy

A consultation chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was held at the Government.
During the meeting, the implementation of the Food Safety System Development Strategy and the resulting 2023–2028 Action Plan was discussed.
According to a readout issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan stated that the Food Safety System Development Strategy stems from the 2021–2026 Government Program of the Republic of Armenia.
The consultation included a report on the work carried out to ensure food safety, promote a healthy population, expand markets and exports, increase productivity and investment, and ensure social stability and economic growth.
They also also discussed mechanisms for detecting and responding to violations in the food safety sector, their effectiveness, legislative changes related to slaughterhouse operations, as well as the improvement of veterinary services and capacity development.
The Prime Minister gave relevant instructions within the framework of the issues discussed.
